In 2008 at the age of just 12 Faryl Smith appeared
on Britain's Got Talent, she was very nervous and no one knew what
to expect, especially the judges.
When Faryl Smith started to sing Amazing Grace the
audience, judges and the millions of people watching at home were
simply amazed, how could this 12 year old girl sing so beautiful
at such a young age.
Since appearing in the final of Britain's Got Talent
she came second and lost out to break dancing expert George Sampson.
Faryl Smith's debut album, Faryl, was recorded in
London during her Christmas holiday between December 2008 and January
2009, and completed on the third of January. It features a 60 piece
orchestra, and is due for release on 9 March, 2009. Promotion began
in January, with performances at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and
appearances at the debut of Oliver!. Smith also took part in a photoshoot
for publicity and cover photos.
In 2009 Faryl Smith has released her debut album
called Faryl which sold 20,000 copys in the first four days of release,
and ended up selling 29,200 copies in the first week. It debuted
at number 6, but rose to number 4 in the following week, making
Faryl Smith the third Britain's Got Talent contestant to have a
top ten album.
Faryl's record deal, reportedly worth £2.3million
pounds, is the biggest deal ever given to a schoolgirl.
