Opera

As well as performing roles at Glyndebourne Faryl also performed in the chorus for production's such as Saul, Parsifal, L'elisir D'amore, Falstaff, Dialogues des Carmélites, Don Giovanni and Semele.
Faryl has also performed in many different opera scenes, playing roles such as Adina from Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Vixen from Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen, Fiordiligi from Mozart's Così fan tutte, Donna Elvira from Mozart's Don Giovanni and Magda from Puccini's La Rondine.
She was given the opportunity by The Felix Mendelssohn Foundation to sing in Leipzig at Mendelssohn-Haus, she also received The Ann Wyburd Prize for her performance of German Lied and was a Sybil Tutton Opera Award Holder,

2026/2027 highlights for British soprano Faryl Smith including performing the role of Mimì LA BOHÈME for Waterperry Opera Festival, followed by the role of Karolka JENŮFA for Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
Recent engagements include covering the roles of Blümenmädchen PARSIFAL, Bobbie THE RAILWAY CHILDREN and Giannetta L'ELISIR D'AMORE at Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Faryl performed in IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA as an Opera Holland Park Young Artist and at in Waterperry Opera Festival in 2024.
Other operatic roles include Sister Rose in the London stage premier of Jake Heggie’s DEAD MAN WALKING (Guildhall Opera), Mariuccia in Nino Rota’s I DUE TIMIDI (Guildhall Opera), and Kathleen in the Opera Makers new chamber opera Bloody Murder written by Luke Byrne and Shirley Keane delivered in association with The Royal Opera House.
Faryl became a Samling Young Artist in 2021, has been a solosit for the Glyndebourne Christmas celebration concerts and performed as the soprano solosit for the Waterperry Opera Festvial Last Night at the Opera.
